Environmental Alert: The crisis of seeds to aggression

News
extracted from the "Citizen"

The debate on transgenics in Chile begins when the multinational Monsanto is ranked as the worst company in the world in 2010, has been authorized to operate in our territory.

The recent ratification of the controversial Senate UPOV 1991 revealed a chilling reality for Chileans: the U.S. firm Monsanto, in the short term, will own the majority of peasant and indigenous seeds of our country, this is because Sooner or later GM species-patented Monsanto will cross with native or pure, located in farms and fields neighbors, creating "mutant child" who will carry the trademark of the multinational owner of "hybrid."

This strategy is used by Monsanto in the world, since it allows in a short time, check the seed business. So ratifies Dan Ravicher, executive director of the Public Patent Foundation (PUBPAT, for its acronym in English), who during a recent claim made in the United States against transnational said that "some people think that GM seeds may coexist with organic, but history tells us that this is not possible, and today's financial interest is to remove the seeds Monsanto orgánicas para que puedan tener el monopolio total sobre nuestra cadena de alimentos”.

Nicolas Cage Personality Disorder

police, responding Popular!

Recent popular demonstrations which have risen over the country have brought to light the rejection of most of the population policies of the incumbent government, so how are you increasing the number of attendees and their radicalism, it also increases the aggressiveness of police for suppress discontent rises throughout the country.

The dismal news came from Conception, where a young student of Sociology at the University of Concepcion, was brutally assaulted by police, in the context of student demonstrations, which involved more than eight thousand students in that city. Paulina Rubino but fortunately did not lose his eye, ended his fractured cheekbone and bruising to eyes. According to his testimony in a personal statement of the facts, the special forces troops were grouped to see your bike out of the university, and is shot a tear gas bomb twenty yards away, then leave wounded in the street near with mock conditions on the left, reporting also a co-broke her ankle while trying to avoid a similar impact. Despite the witnesses and the testimony of the young, the police said the girl's injury had been caused by a stone. It should be remembered that cases like this that are repeated in the police record again and again without finding fault, and if they come to light, do not receive any punishment, as in the case of murderer Walter Ramírez Inostroza, who cowardly shot by Matthias back to weichafe Catrileo. Andy Sixx Neck Tattoo

Desiderata

Today I share an anonymous text that accompanies me since I have memory ... Happy week! Here goes:

"Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace
may be in silence.
live on good terms with all persons
all you can, without surrender.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly,
listen to others, even the dull and ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter for always there will
people larger and smaller than you.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble,
is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business,
because the world is full of trickery.
But that does not blind you to what virtue there.
Many people
strive for high ideals and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
because opposite
all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.

Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here
and is clear to you or not,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
any
you conceive Him and whatever your labors and aspirations,
keep in the noisy confusion of peace with your soul.
With all its sham and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Beware ... Strive to be happy. "

What Is The Best Travel Tripod For Dslr

Approval, another day that will live in infamy.

The May 9, 2010 will be another day in innumerable infamous list of days that have woven the merciless rule of capital. Santiago bag something indicating when shares rose 0.56% Endesa and Enersis increase by 0.33% and the IPSA (the sort of capitalist feast) rises by 0.53%. In odd numbers is expressed solidarity of the ruling class ... then GDP growth will rise to the stupidity of believing we're going to development. Wherever people are suffering, the capital smiles.

Contradictions between national and local authorities, lobby, clear conflicts of interest and other evils, capital overcame the opinion of the vast majority, reaffirming its monopoly status, projected as the owners of 80% of the market power generator and distributor in Chile. Absolutely strategic market, left wing of the corporate interests of a few. A few of our energy decide the future of our resources and we reflect the self-exiled lethargic and we are of our own destiny. Read more

The road to Palestinian liberation passes through Cairo

"The riots in the Arab world give us hope. Tyranny will not last all eternity (...) is a matter of time before they get the time. And believe me: the Israeli occupation is by far one of the worst tyrannies in the region "
(Gideon Levy, lecture at Trinity College, Dublin, March 9, 2011)

The" Arab Spring " is changing the face of the Middle East and North Africa in unexpected ways. One region, which until recently was seen through the veil racist "western" as endemically dictatorial, has decided to put in place for their liberation from stale authoritarianism. The people in almost all Arab countries have begun to protest their most basic rights and living conditions, which creates a scenario in which nothing is solid and everything seems malleable, changeable, fluid. There is no fear and silence seems no longer an option. As is obvious, neither Israel nor Palestine can remain indifferent to the winds of change.

The importance of Palestinian resistance in the political mind of the Arab peoples mobilized against their own tyrants, it happens often overlooked in the mass media. But the Palestinian resistance is crucial for understanding the recent politicization of the Arab masses, this is a cause that has made us vibrate the heart of all Arabs for decades, and has generated deep resentment toward the majority of Arab governments who have contributed with Israel and have been complicit in the occupation. In fact, it is no coincidence that in both Tunisia and Jordan, Egypt and Yemen, popular protests against the rulers were frequently accompanied by representations graphs of the dictators with stars of David and the stripes and stars of the American flag. Across the Arab world were chanted songs denouncing the cowardice of the leaders who have been complicit in the oppression of Palestine. We could say that the Palestinian cause pain quintessentially Arab. But school is more educational about the iniquities of the system for millions of Arabs. Read more

Once upon a time ...

If anything you want to fly ...

" If you ever encounter a story, or one of the creatures that carry my books, Please créanselas. Créanselas because I have invented the . "With these words ended a few days ago, writer Ana María Matute, his acceptance speech at the Cervantes Prize. A speech that really moved me because it talks about magic to invent dreams, the magic of stories. And remember the author when, in the autumn evenings, the children sat by the fire to listen, enraptured, those wonderful words: "Once upon a time ..."

This made me think of the times, being with Inés and Joan, I have repeated these same words magic and how her eyes, full of sparks, have turned to me, looking forward to open the door to that wonderful world where everything is possible, where the mermaids walking on land, which involved flying children in fairy dust, which the princes, overcoming their own weaknesses and defeat the dragons and end up dancing with the princesses.

Because children have not lost the ability to dream, to believe in magic, illusion. Because children know, the children still remember-that stories are more than stories. That they hide behind secret doors into the depths of the soul.

Once upon a time ...

Tribute to the birth of Karl Marx. Trier, Germany, May 5, 1818 - London, UK, March 14, 1883

From its origins Anarchism is characterized by its argument (real or unfounded) against Marx. However, the time and founded criticism has been able to iron some respects, while it clarifies others, going beyond mere superficial propaganda. This results in the general framework of the socialist camp, which enters differences Marxian thought and the current libertarian are not absolute. There are two completely opposite views of two unrelated fields, but two moments that express different situations of social movements that they embody. This is confirmed when we assume that these same ideological expressions are not homogeneous in its interior.
On the other hand, neither can ignore the fateful path of Marxism as an ideological expression of a social class: the bureaucracy, which sought to dominate, with varying degrees of success, the many manifestations of popular movement worldwide. If however, a critical perspective it is not difficult to delineate a significant difference between Marx and Marxism, a difference that we must make clear that ideologies are not derivations of a dogma, but are concrete expressions of historical situations, are how classes to try to resolve its contradictions, is a field of struggle. Therefore, it is as illusory as vain to try to link in a linear and mechanical Marxism Marx and he is so delusional and vain link Bakunin mechanically and linear with anarchism. The pure history of ideas is empty if not linked to its historical moment.
is why, in the context of this critical distance, we wanted to pay this small tribute to even think that, although many would bother, it remains crucial to understanding the internal logic of capitalist society.

then published an extract from the website of the CICA, which includes text notes in preparation for the "Civil War in France", the text-to many-more libertarian Marx and caused much controversy among the anarchists the time.

Forum: May 1. Historical and Contemporary Perspectives Movement l @ s @ s Worker in Chile

Another year we are in the throes of this date so felt for the labor movement, in which we remember those killed by fellow Chicago capitalists and the State U.S. in 1886 to fight for the 8-hour day, and many workers have fallen since then in defending our interests as exploited and oppressed. Workers
Today we face a very complex picture, marked by the crisis they have created and which are benefiting the wealthy and privileged. We are robbing hands full with the excuse that there is no way that anything we can do, but we know not, that the fight is in our hands and in the rescue of the experiences of those who fought before us .

workers, students and all the exploited still relying solely on ourselves to solve our problems. No one will do for us. We need to strengthen our ties of solidarity, achieving coherence and consistency our demands on improving our working conditions, not forgetting the fellow unemployed, to feel the struggle of each group as our own and work for their victory, throw into the fight without fear, knowing that we have a brother each partner that is thrown at her with us. That is why we invite everyone to share the experience of those who maintain this struggle every day to reflect on it and strengthen theoretical and practical tools that allow us to bend the hand to the system.

Diana Zubiri Movie Scandal

The voices of your conscience

Angelus Novus - Paul Klee

(Thanks to Joachim and Marta)

The good news is, I believe - the number one bestseller in the last edition of Sant Jordi has been Indignaos! , an argument against the indifference written by Stéphane Hessel. Indignaos! thus by exclamation marks.

Hessel, 93, who was a member of the French Resistance, a survivor of a concentration camp, a militant pro-independence Algerian defender of the Palestinian cause and editor of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948, surprised by the widespread indifference and apathy ("indifference is the worst attitude," he says), how they are destroying the planet while doing nothing to prevent it, by how we immunized against war and injustice, by how we swallow films that tell the media, by how we've stopped questioning things, how to accept the dictatorship of the markets, how desensitized we compared the treatment of immigrants or how we bowed our heads and do nothing-nothing-until we play our small-growing small-parcel of being. But, as positive and optimistic, and still believe in human beings, we are invited, WE URGE-to outrage. The outrage and then to act. Then, as he says in his book, one of the essential components of human beings is "the power of outrage and commitment to the next."

Along the same lines are the work of the President of Justice and Peace, Arcadi Oliveras (which recently posted a video in the post " Nothing human is alien to me ") or the assistant director of Triodos Bank, Joan melee in the video below, try to answer to the question "why not react?".

"We are all cause and effect of what happens (...) If each of us does our bit for improve things, at a time, things would be totally different, "says Dr. Mario Alonso Puig in his book Living is an urgent matter. "Let's take a step forward, albeit very small, do something, one call, take a small decision, although not perfect. Distress paralyzes us or invites us to flee. Therefore it is very important to move, do something, take a step forward. A simple movement carries a powerful message to our brain, "I can." It's a shame because there are so many people who think they can do so little that is worthwhile, there are so many people who do nothing . "

The good news is that there are voices you talk, you push from the center of your heart, from the very core of your consciousness. Do you hear?
